Disc Tears and Bulges

Disc tears and bulges can be terribly painful and debilitating. The condition arises generally from an original incorrect lifting technique, which causes a tear or bulge of the jelly-like substance of the intervertebral disc.

Intevertebral discs separate the vertebrae of the spine, and are required by the body so that the body can bend and flex. The resulting pain of a disc tear or bulge is usually extremely sharp, extremely painful and may refer pain and/or pins and needles down the leg. It often hurts to cough or sneeze with a disc tear or bulge, and the patient may adopt a tilted posture.

How can Pennant Hills Chiropractic help with your disc tear or bulge ?

Our chiropractors can assess, diagnose, and treat your disc tear or bulge.

If a torn disc is causing pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, or muscle spasms, a proactive treatment plan to heal the torn disc or discs may be recommended.

Because it is considered degenerative, there is usually a progressive, gradual onset of symptoms.

It can cause pain in the buttocks, legs, or back. It can also affect your ability to walk.

The good news is if this is the first time you’ve had either a bulging or herniated disc, it can be managed without surgery.

From bulging discs to herniated discs and everything else spine-related, Pennant Hills Chiropractic can help alleviate your pain.
